Julianna heard Siresh in her ear. Alyse had an earpiece. Julianna found that incredibly off-putting. Weren't they doing a job for her? The only need for an earpiece would be if she's being told what to say. But by who? Why? What the heck was going on here? Suddenly, Julianna's mental gears began to slow, grind to a halt, and then turn in reverse. What if the husband was innocent. Afterall, she had absolutely nothing to be suspicious about besides his distance and arriving home late. Maybe she was the one who was cheating? But what would sending Julianna and Jasmine after him do for her then? There was only one thing that was for sure: her answers couldn't be trusted. They were still worth asking though. Perhaps, if nothing else, she might be able to decipher if Alyse was lying in her responses or relaying something someone else was saying.
"I've got just a few remaining questions. I appreciate your cooperation with these. I know they must be difficult to consider." Julianna was going to throw some personal ones at her now. Not only had she already planned to ask these, but these might help her pull truth from lies and her words from someone else's. "To your knowledge, does he frequent places he used to still? Or has he abandoned a certain grocery store, for example? Does he go anywhere new that he hasn't before? When is he likely to be at work and when is he likely to be at The Drunken Sailor?" Now, the next question. "Have you noticed him ever around a coworker, friend, neighbor more often than he used to? How frequently did he used to socialize with them and how frequently does he now? If he might be seeing another person, do you have any guess at who it might be? Even if you have to give us a list of potential people; that's alright." The implication of him potentially having multiple other possible relationships should upset her; unless she knows it's not true because she, herself, is the cheater. The final question: "And, just one last question. How frequently do you guys have sex? How passionate and loving is that sex? Are you sure he's still enjoying it? If you haven't been sexual recently, when did it stop? How long has it been?" This ought to trip up the person feeding her lines; if they are. Julianna had been taking notes on all the answers given as well as locations of places and names of people. Her hand was lightly throbbing.
"Right, well, I believe that finishes up the questions. I apologize if any where a little too sensitive." Julianna then grew silent as Alyse proceeded to ask them her own question about 'Agent Bronze.' Jasmine seemed to take the lead on that and Julianna was grateful. Julianna only assisted Jasmine when Julianna was reintroduced as the 'newest addition.' "It's a pleasure and an honor."
As Jasmine proceeded to email the cost of services, Julianna took the opportunity to casually look around. They were outside afterall. Perhaps they was a van nearby that the wireless assistant was hiding-out in. She scanned the surroundings subtly for anything suspicious. The person didn't have to be nearby. But it's possible they could be. Perhaps eager to talk with her once she got done from the meeting.
Once things were all wrapped up and the business had been taken care of, Julianna gathered binder of notes and casually pulled out her cell phone. After they were at a safe distance away from the coffee shop, Jasmine began talking. Julianna listened, but didn't turn to face her. Instead, she began hacking. There was likely very limited time on this. Probably a few final words between Alyse and her assistant before she unplugged herself. Julianna had to work fast. It was a wireless headset. That meant a frequency was being transmitted through the air like radio-waves. If she could find it fast enough, she could catch a few final words and perhaps even trace the line back to the assistant's location. That part she probably wouldn't have the time for, however, as it was not nearly as easy as tracing a simple phone call.
In the meantime, Julianna responded to Jasmine's questions. "We could track him from his job or perhaps the bar; The Drunken Sailor. There is always the option of one of us casually bumping into him and chatting about life like two social strangers at a bar. May get more info from him that way. I personally think that's the more informative route. I volunteer myself as I have no possible connection with you two that he could possibly know of." Julianna's eyes had not left the phone this entire time as she tapped away. "Should that not get us anywhere, we always have Plan B, follow him from afar." Jasmine then mentioned the earpiece. "I'm looking into that right now, actually. That is quite odd. I'm seeing if I can't find their frequency and eavesdrop. Maybe even trace it back, but I doubt I'll have the time."
________
Unproficient: Insight (to tell if Alyse was being honest with her answers or was repeating lines she was told to say)
Proficient: Spot (to look for suspicious people or cars in the local area that might be assisting Alyse wirelessly while Jasmine's busy emailing)
Proficient: Hacking (to find the frequency the earpiece is on and perhaps trace it if possible)
