Re: A Grand Masquerade Ball

Post by Biran Everard on Sun Dec 16, 2018 11:25 pm

A mask too? "Forget it." All in attendance should count themselves lucky that he even got into a suit. This dumb party with this dumb high class social standard. Who's idea even was this? The only reason he was even going was because Soori and Fairfax talked him into it. It would be a good opportunity to show face and rub elbows and all that happy shit. They'd be his entourage this evening. His vote of confidence if you will. Even the mighty Ironside had an axe to grind and many enemies in attendance at this little gathering. Among them? The main man himself, Travis Valentine. Though his great grandfather by blood, there were a number of reasons that Biran's blood boiled at just the mere mention of the man. Upon his discreet entrance, he bypassed many of the faces he'd normally say hi to in order to meet up with another familiar face and secondary forceful backup aside from the company he was already packing. Jesus Brozus himself was talking to another familiar face, that blond woman from his HQ who had a twin brother. Wasn't she heavily pregnant last time they met? By damn, she probably was. Biran nodded to his posse to let him go so that he could close in on the bar scene. He bumped shoulders with Jesus, just enough to be a douche but not enough to have the man spill his drinks. "Long time no see." Since he had literally gotten between their conversation he may as well address the young woman as well. "How's the baby?" Biran then nodded to the bartender, keeping an ear out on her answer but he was here to get his drink, make his small talk, then move on. "You must be on maternity leave, huh? No wonder the hallways don't look as clean anymore." That was supposed to be a compliment and by no means an ignorant comment on how a woman, a mother no less, is better suited to clean his facility than most. But this was Biran, so evidently the comment could also seem as such.

Re: A Grand Masquerade Ball

Post by Carzeah on Mon Dec 17, 2018 12:02 am

Carzeah leaned against a far wall of the festivities, alone and broody as ever. He counted and watched the heads that walked in slowly, blinking only occasionally at the door. Thankfully casinos such as this one allowed one to smoke indoors so at least that helped pass along the time. He watched as his own kids came through, but dared not make any signs or gestures toward fellow Rossi members in a Valentine estate. The lazy eyes of liquid gold followed along as he finally saw the previous owner of the rifle the Rossi's had procured appear in plain sight and stupidly waltz along as if he owned the damn place. Carzeah hadn't heard a whole lot about Biran Everard, other than his name and his attitude. Honestly a fool like him didn't seem to be worth all the fuss, but apparently he was a dangerous guy. What the dark lord found a little more intriguing was that he walked up and menacingly into a well dressed man, who had parted from his partner of the evening to get a few drinks. He noted the interaction and regarded it as familiarity rather than threatening posture. That didn't answer the question on who this tall dark and handsome man was though, or what relationship he and Biran Everard shared. The Rossi goon of sorts attempted to make eye contact with Sireissa. Her feminine touch would perhaps mesh well and be more guile in discussing matters around the chief of police and this stranger's wife. He didn't care if she actually conversed or if she just tried to overhear a conversation, but Carzeah would simply put the bug in her ear through telepathic message as his eyes shifted to the red headed female talking to the cheif of police. "Close in on them." It wasn't an order, but a suggestion.

His eyes then flickered over to his muscle, Arden. Once they're eyes were locked, Carzeah subtly moved his gaze in the direction of the two men at the bar with the blond female. "Care to get a drink?" Without much more, he started moving in. Whether Arden wanted to be his forceful backup or not was his prerogative, but Carzeah was going to get a handle on these new faces.

Rolling proficient History on Jesus Brozus to recall or understand who he is or what he does in these parts.

Re: A Grand Masquerade Ball

Post by Harper Fairfax on Thu Dec 20, 2018 11:11 pm

Harper frowned at Patience. Now the cat was just being rude. Pigpen? The Twin City Police Department was not a pigpen by any means. She helped on a bunch of cases. Her and Dom were really good at their job man. Or at least she was helpful with helping him. But that was besides the point. What worried her was the look in that cat's eye. Dom knew a few things. A few more things than she wanted to admit. But it wasn't like Dom knew everything. While she wasn't going to outright say WHO it was, it likely wouldn't take Patience very long to sniff him out. Clearing her throat, Harper spoke out about her plan. If you really could call it a plan. "I got it. Yeah totally got it. I didn't tell him anything too damning. Nothing you couldn't figure out by reading the tabloids. I think he thinks I follow their lives too closely. I mean....have you seen Grandpa Trever? Half the time he is on the front page for one reason or another. I mean look at him."

She tried to look around and see if she could see him...but it turned out that he simply wasn't here yet. Typical Grandpa Trever. Always having to make a grand entrance. Then again, Uncle JT and Aunt Chandler hadn't shown up either. Were they still deciding if they wanted to show up at all? Well no matter, it was time for her to make her rounds around the ball. Maybe someone needed help. Maybe she might run into her family other than Patience. Maybe. Who knows. "And I will...you need to stay away from him. You are going to get yourself into trouble one day with Chief Prince. He might like you because you are a cat....but he also doesn't like Fafa a whole hell of a lot more." It wasn't exactly a threat....more like a warning. She liked Patience. Liked her enough to try and keep her out of trouble. Try being the key word.

But regardless, Harper gave the cat a smile and a quick hug before heading back into the ball, making sure everyone was going well before looking for either a family member or a coworker.

Re: A Grand Masquerade Ball

Post by Sireissa Sleigh on Thu Dec 20, 2018 11:53 pm

Sireissa had watched as people came and went around her. She simply swayed to the music and watched as others moved. She was waiting for something. A sign or maybe someone. What it was, she really wasn't sure. But once she saw it, she would know. Her duel colored eyes glanced from one person to the next. They had been tasked with a job here at the party, but their leader had not told them to move out. For that matter, their actual leader hand not shown up yet. But for now, the siren simply waited in the background until the moment was right.

It was when Carzeah had finally moved that her attention went onto the task at hand.

While he did not directly say to move in and confront them in any ways shape or form, he did ask her to go bother them. Who was that there them? Well one was a man, a very light man with blonde hair, and the other a red haired woman with a tail coming out of her ass. If memory severed her right, those kinds of people were called animalians. They were like a time a dozen up here on land. Like a mermaid down in the ocean. Or a siren. So really, she had no room to talk, but that was besides the point. Her time had finally come. She was going to be annoying.

Gliding forward, Sireissa looked at the two in question. As she got closer, she could tell right off the bat that the male was the Chief of Police. What his name was, she didn't know. But then again, did she even care? Not really. She was going to be told in a few moments anyway. For now, her task was to learn something from them. So here she was, learning something from them. While she walked, Sireissa did everything in her power to look for any detail that might give her any information about them. Were they wired? Did they have a gun? Did they look like they could run after her in a very swift and direct manner? She had weak ankles. If it came to running, she might not get away very fast. But, any information was good information.

Reaching them, Sireissa gave them a beautiful curtsy. One she had one a thousand times over. "Good evening, Sir, Madam. It is a pleasure to see you both here tonight. I do not mean to be rude and interrupt your conversation, but I simply had to come over. You see....I wanted to ask how you got your hair to come out so beautifully. Mine is a nightmare and a half to deal with. Yours? It looks like you wake up and it comes out that perfect." Her attention went back to the Chief of Police and smiled at him. "Today must be a very busy day for you. With all these murders running around. Though, with so many of our law enforcement running around, this hotel must be the most secure place of the night. Which puts my worries to rest. Thank you for your duty, sir." She once again gave him a curtsy, being very polite. If Aeolus or Arden saw her at this moment, would they be proud the siren wasn't simply eating the man? Or upset? Likely the former, but hey, whatever. One way or another she was going to get information. Just a matter of what.

Alyse Brozus, Jesus's wife

Alyse smiled at Leo as she glanced out at the party. She had come with her husband, yet he had left her to chill here and just wait on him. So the real question was, what was taking him so long? Was he talking with someone? Or was he just taking a bathroom break? He did talk about having to do a few things tonight, but she thought she would be at his side. No matter, she enjoyed parties and could easily entertain herself if need be. And so, with a short look around the area, looking for Jesus and finding nothing, she returned her gaze back to Leo. "Yes, I am having a lovely time here. My husband seems to have gotten lost. Or maybe speaking with someone. But I am glad that we have you here on the case. A few people patrolling the block does sure help me feel more at ease...if I'm being honest."

The woman brushed a hand through her red locks just as another woman walked up to them. Alyse blinked and looked at the danty, yet stunning young lady. She couldn't help but notice just how strikingly beautiful she was...if it wasn't for the distant look in her eyes. Though, Alyse paid that no mind. Maybe that was just her normal resting face. After all, she had a friend that was the definition of a resting bitch face. Maybe she had the resting distant face? But her thoughts were brought back to the matter at hand when the girl commented on her hair. This caused Alyse to smile and look down at her curly ends. "Oh please, I don't wake up like this. I have been fortunate to have very lovely hair. I think I can thank my father for that one...since I got most of my everything from him. But I do have to put in some work to make it stay good for the remainder of the day. And Chief Leo was just telling me that he even has patrols here around the block. I am sure you will be fine here tonight. Did you come alone? Would be a shame to have you dressed up like this without someone to escort you around." Her gaze shifted around once more. But what was she even looking for? It wasn't a very good idea to just pick a random person and then hand her off. No. Alyse was better than that. In fact, she was being rude not to even offer a name.

Turning back to the girl, Alyse gave her a warm smile, offering her a handshake. "By the way, my name is Alyse Brozus. I am Jesus Brozus' wife. A pleasure to meet you...." Alyse would wait for her to reply. Even if the name wasn't the real one, Alyse would accept it and move on with the conversation, or wait for Jesus to come back. Either or.

__________

Carzeah, you did well. Too Well. You get the following information for the crit on Jesus R. O. C. Brozus:

  • He's a well established businessman for Hourson Shield, a condom brand in the city. Popularity is well on the rise due to contraceptive solutions for most races and counting. A motto of his is "Sex sells" perhaps for this reason.
  • He's in Untamed, a sort of undercover agent for Biran if you will. To your understanding Jesus bridges a gap between the militia of sorts to the business world. Whatever power that brings is unknown but up to interpretation.

Sireissa, you get the following:
Alyse: She looks great for a mother so young with 6 kids. Damn. But she is clean
Leo: Chief of Police. He is armed, but that's to be expected

Re: A Grand Masquerade Ball

Post by Jasmine Ward on Fri Dec 21, 2018 2:24 pm

Jasmine waited there for her drink as she waited for the reply that Jesus was going to give her. Honestly, she should have known better than to say something like that. She knew the Brozus way. Jesus was going to have something to say that would cause her to roll her eyes. And, just like she predicted, he said something that caused her eyes to roll. OF course they would be attacked that way....gross. But it only got worse from there. At the mention of the breast milk, Jasmine couldn't help but close her eyes and just breathe. She needed zen at this moment. Honestly, she wasn't sure who was worse: Jesus or Siresh? And as she thought about that, a second person came to ruin her life even more.

The blonde woman could feel the color draining from her face as Biran spoke. How's the baby? She had dodged the bullet last time by saying she was Daniel. But she was clearly not Daniel. She was Jasmine. She was Jasmine the girl who pretended to be the pregnant woman at the Untamed HQ. This man was out to give her an early grave. It was bad enough Biran was still so nice about this and backing her into a corner, but now Jesus thought she had a baby. Likely with Siresh. And if he thought that, what would he think next? That they were in some kind of plot to then get married? She needed a drink. A stronger drink. Just give her the entire bottle of whiskey. Yeah, that might due. Instead, she got her fruity pink drink and she was stuck with it.

Jasmine downed about half the drink before turning to Biran Ironside himself. She needed some kind of excuse. Something he could believe.... "I had a miscarriage." Yeah, that was going to go over so well. Oh so well...She could see the pained look in both of their eyes at this very moment. Jesus was just stunned. Whether it was because she had a kid with Siresh or that she had a kid then lost it. Biran? He looked like the world just stopped. It wasn't his fake baby that died. But the way he was looking at her, it might as well have been his only child that just passed. No. She needed to get out of this situation. Now. So, in true Jasmine fashion, she downed the rest of her drink and shrugged. "And cool. I'll keep that in mind next time I go back to work, Sir." Not that she was ever thinking that she was going back, but telling him here and now that she was never coming back seemed like it wasn't going to fly. She was going to have to tell Siresh that she needed papers in their files saying she worked there now. He dug her hole, but she might as well get some use out of it. After all, Jesus worked there too. If she didn't roll with it, he might bring it up later. Fake it until you make it. She was always good like that. "But I won't be back for a little bit still. This was traumatic for me. But I should be back in a few weeks at the very least. Enough to get myself in the right mindset." She gave Biran a smile and stuck out her hand. "It was good seeing you again, Sir. Just so you know next time, my name is Jasmine Olson. A Pleasure."

She then gave Jesus a smile. She knew she was Jasmine Ward to him. But if she was going to play any part, her mother's maiden name was always used. She would be Olson and never Ward. "If you see your brother, Jesus, tell him and his lovely partner I said hello. They work too hard to do what it is they are doing." Biran could completely take that as Ron and Loco. After all, they were partners and Jesus' brother. But she knew Jesus was smarter than that. Much smarter than that. They had told the Brozus family that Siresh and Jasmin worked together as a investigation team. Jasmine was his partner, though she played the role of a male and often was mistaken as such. Jesus just needed to put two and two together. He must have known they knew he was apart of Untamed. He must have known this for a bit now. But his love for his brother came before that, and that was what she was banking on to let her get this lie across.

Once Biran was done shaking her hand, she moved it towards Jesus. "A pleasure to see you again. Enjoy the party. And I guess your wife later. If you'll excuse me, I have somewhere else to be."

And she got the fuck out of there. In just one conversation, she sealed her fate with being a Untamed member as well as saying she had a baby. She would say that this night couldn't get any worse, but that would be a lie. As Jasmine made her way back onto the floor, her gaze had caught a man from her past. It was only for an instant, but that instant ran ice down her back. Quickly she scanned the crowd again but she couldn't spot him. Was it apart of her imagination? No. She recognized that face anywhere....even behind a mask. She wasn't safe here in the open full of people. She needed to find someone else to stand by...

Re: A Grand Masquerade Ball

Post by Siresh Brozus on Fri Dec 21, 2018 4:40 pm

It took the tiger a moment to recover honestly. Jasmine had walked out of the apartment looking...beautiful? No. Not Jasmine. Not at all. His partner? No. Jasmine was the manliest dude bro there was. Now she was going to a ball looking all pretty and shit? He couldn't even fathom what was going on. All that? Just to find out what happened to an old gun. Oh lord. Well, he had to compose himself. Whether she was out there tonight looking grand for this ball for work or for herself, it wasn't his deal. Siresh at least had to be the one to take this seriously. So he got himself dressed, got his mask on, and was out the door to go to the lavish event of the season.

Instead of hitting the ballroom to rub elbows he went to the casino at first to hang with the cool crowd and see who was around playing for keeps. See if he could hear any whispers about regarding this gun. Nothing. At least for right now. In the meantime he couldn't help but notice a man in TCPD uniform, gambling beside him. Was he supposed to be doing that while on duty? Probably not but the other man seemed to have no care in the world. At least there was no drink in sight. This guy made him a little uneasy though, for some odd reason. Maybe it was just because he was so close to a cop? Did he know this guy? There was no way. Instead of making himself look foolish or sketchy by staring he decided to be on his way. To his absolute horror, the cop was closing out just as he was. Was he going to tail him all night? Did he know who he was? Siresh kept his cool and walked away from the table to head to the ballroom, to where the cop seemed to be heading as well. Siresh slowed his pace so that the officer could take the lead, and he did without trouble.

Maybe it was just a coincidence to which the realization made him sigh a bit. Paranoia strikes again. He looked back up to the crowds of people to try and spot his partner, to which he eventually caught eyes with. She was alone and looked quite lost without him actually. Siresh couldn't help but chuckle to himself as he approached and reached his hand out for the lady to take. "You look like you've seen a ghost. What's the matter miss Ward? Cat got your tongue?" Teasing as always. He took her hand in his to kiss it formally, something for show in such a place. The music changed pace, something a bit for the older and less party crowd. A real song to dance to? How delightful this opportunity was. "May I have this dance, Miss Ward?" He wasn't going to take no for an answer obviously.

Re: A Grand Masquerade Ball

Post by Arden Ealdwode on Mon Dec 24, 2018 3:28 pm

The dark sided unicorn would be watching the crowd nearby Carzeah, making sure not to draw too much attention to himself tonight.

Arden would grin as the 'boss' would ask him to stride with him to the bar, even though Arden was wearing a wide playful smile behind it was a more sinister motive. Events like these were always great ways to find business. The odd cheating spouse looking for revenge, the supposed cheating croupier (Table jockey) forcing a loss on a player, or plenty of other targets for a hitman like Arden.

As Arden closed in the distance with Carzeah before they just met up and walked suspiciously toward the bar together, he would grin widely at the red headed man. At first he kept his tone low so no one would hear him but Carz. "Edward Phillips. Personal gym trainer." He whispered nodding at the man. It was important not to use his real name tonight, in fact most people he met didn't know his actual name. A way to keep himself safe in his line of business. As they got closer to the bar Arden would allow his deep voice to be hard a little louder. As he spoke he had a very friendly, warm welcoming tone. Each word was perfectly pronounced.

"Yeah man. I'm telling you. There's nothing like popping an ice cold beer, and flipping on the game after a intense workout." Stereotypical 'dude' talk, Arden's ploy to encourage people to talk to them. As they approached he bar Arden would quickly eye everyone, greeting them with a smile. In reality he was scanning them to see if he recognized anything about them, and small detail that would give anything away he might be able to use.

Using Talent: 'Attention to detail' to quickly scan over the small crowd at the bar.
