Another night for the force. SWAT Commander Sgt. Abel Malach geared himself and a unit of trained individuals up for the arrest of a man under a high risk warrant. Abel had been looking into this individual for a very long time now, since he had entered the city practically. A deranged menace to society, Bronze Wilder. They had a pretty vague file on the guy, but Abel knew better about this man and the true name behind the facade. In fact, it was Abel that pulled the strings to get this guy finally brought into police custody. Perhaps for no other reason other than the fact that the man was getting in Abel's own way but that was besides the point. More corrupt things happened in the precinct on the daily and this small favor was a minor offense in comparison to some of the things that occurred.
Bronze Wilder, or should he say, Siresh Brozus was a thorn in his side. A very strong piece, perhaps equivalent to a Queen that guarded the King in a game of chess. He had to go if Abel was to get any closer to the coveted Check Mate that would end the suffering from past humiliations. Thankfully though, this Queen was the last standing obstacle before this game was finally over. Jasmine Ward had no other guards to hide behind once Siresh was gone. Some of the men were a little skeptical as they read the reports on Mr Wilder. A jewel thief was about all the TCPD had on him that they could prove in a court of law, and even that was fuzzy. Abel just scoffed. They didn't have to believe the report. They could wait outside while Abel took care of this himself for all he cared. The warrant to put Brozus behind bars was all he needed, not the support of the SWAT team behind him.
Loading the men in a number of trucks, they soon deployed. Fast and ready, the fleet of trucks zoomed down the road with lights and sirens blaring. Reaching a poor and lowly end of town where the hideout of the target was recently found. The elusive craftiness of this adversary was beyond any kind he had seen for a race that was as clumsy and ill gifted as the human race, so Abel would still have to keep himself on his toes. This was hardly the end to this game of cat and mouse, he could already sense it. The feds in the real world had a hard time tracking this same individual down as well from what he recalled of old news reports and his observations when they had played this game across Europe. But Siresh was finally in a corner with no place to run any longer. He trapped Jasmine here too and soon they would both be brought to their respective justice, torn far apart and perhaps existing in two different realms entirely if Abel would have it his way.
The warrant was merely for an arrest and there was no sound reason or authority to kill sadly. But if Abel could prove the has-been cyber terrorist as a genuine threat to the city, the high risk warrant could deepen into a more desperate order. Perhaps even a hit or bounty if the right person caught word of this abomination. Abel knew he himself would not be satisfied until he was given the orders of "shoot to kill" on that bastard. He had never once met Jasmine's new keeper in person but with every picture Abel got closer to boiling his blood. In every picture, an arrogant and cocky smirk hung on the criminal's lips as if nothing bothered him, like nothing could hurt him. Abel reveled in proving him wrong and making him pay for giving his songbird the room to fly again.
The truck he and his men were in screeched to a halt and broke his malicious thoughts. It was time to work now and kick off the new chase. He was the first man out of the armored vehicle while he ushered each of the men out and into positions around windows and the main door. "You know the drill. Auxiliary unit will make the primary boundary while we storm the castle. Remember your training." He was the major SWAT guy for the TCPD. They were all just regular cops until something like this came up. Training was constant but actual occasions to utilize the program were few and far between at times. After speaking his brief words, he pulled up his tactical hood and affixed his helmet. The final step in readying for war was to pull down the face shield and grab firm hold of the shotgun that slung over his shoulder. He approached the door and started giving out a few signals that mobilized the force around him, some taking to the alleys on either side of the building, while others began make preparations to climb and breach in from windows. He and 3 others were going to go in the loud way as the mentioned auxiliary force began to encircle the main entrance with shields in hand.
Abel ordered the door open, to which one man opened it while one with a shield entered. Abel followed in closely behind the officer with the shield while the other two filed and kept to the standard formation. They kept on high alert as they traversed the apartment, acknowledging and appropriately advising any curious and terrified civilians to stay in their homes. It was a delicate situation to come into a city apartment and expect cooperation on the spot, without any warning or notification that fully armed tactical officers were going to storm into and secure their common spaces. They were all headed to a very specific door after all, no reason to scour the entire place.
After a bit of a climb they had made it to the apartment that was rumored to belong to the man in question and his companion. He wondered which one of them, if not both or if either of them, were behind this door. He couldn't give them anymore time to run though. Knocking on the door was completely out of the question and so Abel kicked it down and pointing his shotgun into the open studio apartment. Caught him on the couch playing video games on a household console, seemingly unmoved by the sudden break in. "Put your hands where I can see them!" The rest of the team moved in to surround the male's position, to which Mr Wilder still remained unmoved. With him not making any other motion or response to the newcomers, Abel lowered his gun to observe the situation. He heard a sudden clank and his eyes snapped in the direction of the sound, the last thing he saw was the shadow of a man with a long orange and black striped tail trailing behind him as he jumped outside the apartment and onto the fire escape beyond. "Stop right there!" But then his vision was impaired, as was the rest of the teams as the room filled with dark smoke.
Abel took a shot toward the window where he pointed his gun just before the smoke set in. Whether he hit or miss was another story and perhaps the least of his concerns at this time as pandemonium took hold of the officers just after his firearm blasted. Multiple gunshots fired off within the room, some even connecting and penetrating through his armor as he was likely still in line with one of his men. "Hold your fire!" But it was no use. The damage was likely already done. When the smoke cleared, all three men laid severely injured if not already dead from the point blank shots from one another. The bodies laid around the man on the couch, still unhurt and unmoved. Abel approached the adversary and placed a hand around his stupid neck, just to have his fingers phase right through as he attempted to take hold. A hologram. But he was here, so this was an evasive maneuver, not a set up. Perhaps his force was too loud on the way in. Their were other officers in bound to this position and a criminal on the loose, Abel had to make the quick decision to take off and pursue on foot, leaving the rest of the team behind.
Taking to the fire escape the man left on he zoomed up onto the roof to get a better angle and perhaps find the perpetrator on the move. Unlike Jasmine, Siresh could not fly so he could have only gone in this same direction in order to avoid detection of the mass amount of ground units securing the area tight. Brozus was found had a good head start on him, a few roof tops away and it was times like these that Abel wished that his demon form was not flightless. Having no formal training in urban free running he'd just have to not so literally wing it. He began running as he stripped off his helmet, mask, and his tactical vest and made and cleared the first jump by sheer luck. Before the next roof he could remove the large jacket, revealing another bulletproof layer that was impeding his movement. Abel launched himself onto the next roof and landed it, the momentum from the connection having him stumble a bit as he moved onward. His pace slowed to take a breath and get the vest off properly before the next jump to which he took off once more and made the next.
He took no time to pay mind to the injuries that soaked vibrant red through the blue TCPD uniform shirt that he wore under his full gear. The next jump was executed and succeeded well enough and he could see his target begin to descend down the fire escape of the building after the next one. There was no time for rest and he had to press on. Abel gauged the next jump as it came fast. It was a larger gap to clear and he selected the wrong landing point. There was no way he was going to make the jump but it was too late to select a new plan. His wide bound ended him up with his rib cage smashing against the rooftop, his elbows firmly planting and hooking over the lip of the roof as his body dangled over the side of the building. Air blasted from his lungs in a short expel as his face scrunched from the pain of practically running into a wall. His boots scrambled into the brick side and as he attempted to kick himself up just enough to roll his body to safety. His top half was not as weighted as his bottom half now however and the weight kept him from lifting himself up and over the lip. He decided that keeping his elbows locked was less effort and less risky as of right now and perhaps it would give him time to rest and breathe in order to recover enough to get himself over the side. For now, he hung limp there in defeat. "Fucking tiger..."
