After so many attempts in suggesting to have a drink with her, the time was finally now. They were caught up on work and had the spare funds to have a brief moment of R&R after the absolute monstrosity of an outing they had. The power of suggestion was indeed a powerful tool, but even Siresh was starting to think that Jasmine would never cave into temptation. Was he really that repulsive of a human being? Of course, the nature of their relationship was work exclusive. He understood that. Jasmine was very to herself though and didn't seem to have many people in her life to occupy her free time. It couldn't hurt to bring their partnership to another level. A more personal level of non-intimacy, of course. Strictly platonic. Girls are gross.
With that, he was hardly trying to impress anyone. This didn't stop him from looking his best to go to the bar, however. His mission attire was almost always a button down with cargo pants, already pretty dressed up for the occasion to get dirty. Tonight he'd actually put on a nice pair of slacks and top off that nice rolled sleeve button up with a suit vest and even a tie. Once he was looking appropriate and dapper, he strolled himself on out to meet with his partner who was already on her way to the bar. He told her to get a headstart while he closed out some final business things on his end for the day. Working an honest private investigations gig was a rather lucrative and easy side job. One day maybe he could make an honest career out of it one day. Until then, there were folks in the city that still needed someone mad enough to do the things Siresh did best.
Midway through his walk, he felt his phone buzz in his pocket. Instead of taking it out to look at it like a normal person, he brought his finger to his ear and spoke, "Display new message." The prompt registered in his retinal display and brought up his phone screen directly to his right eye for discreet viewing. He received an email from a new client to his honest business email, just after closing shop for the day. Nothing stopped him from working after hours, but tonight was sort of important. It could wait until the morning. At least until he saw the name that the email was addressed from. A. Brozus. He already knew who that was and looked back and forth on the street as if he was guilty of something already. He wasn't, but he already felt guilty to just see her name. There was no harm in reading what his new client had to say though, right? So he read.
Talented Bronze Tiger Investigator;
My name is Alyse Brozus, a wife of a man named Jesus Brozus. I've looked far and wide for a capable company in the city and reviews have led me to you. Recently my husband has displayed odd behavior in the household that is completely out of character for him. I fear that after 7 years of marriage he has succumbed to the "7-year itch" and is convening with other women. We have 6 beautiful children and I need to know the truth so that I can make the best possible decision for them. Please let me know your thoughts and if you can help me.
With a heavy sigh, the alleged cyberterrorist found his way to the bar after reading the entire message and wrapping his mind around it. His partner was still waiting on him but another moment longer couldn't hurt, right? Keeping his distance from the bar, he continued walking as he spoke the message to respond back to her. "Reply and insert text. Mrs. Brozus, I am deeply sorry that you have these suspicions of your husband. It will be my pleasure to assist you and find the information you need in order to make a decision about the future of your home life together. Looking into your husband's background, I understand that he was active duty with the United States military and went through an accident that put him out of his enlistment. Was he ever diagnosed with PTSD or any similar mental or emotional debilitation due to his service? I've found that many prior service members face hardships that may affect their state of mind at different stages of life. Your husband may be going through an episode of severe depression that can usually manifest in many different forms. I'd like you to describe his behavior and think back to if he has ever been this way before? I'm not a mental health specialist by any means, but any patterns in his behavior can help me to better serve you in this case. Taking a moment away from his well being, I want you to explain your old daily routine and his as well to the best of your ability and how it differs from your routine now. Any personal notes or annotations are encouraged, as it will help me paint the best possible picture of the situation. We will start with that for now and I will talk to you again soon. Sincerely, Bronze Tiger Investigations, Agent Syesh Ward. Exit and send."
And there was yet another heavy sigh as he looked over to the bar from his position on the street. "What are you doing, Jesus?" His own brother? He was in the city with his family? It was news to Siresh actually. And on top of this, he was cheating on Alyse? No. He couldn't be. This odd bit of news was something that he wanted to just forget about for tonight. He began traversing back to it so that he could finally meet with his partner. Jasmine had found a nice spot in the corner of the place, away from prying ears and eyes for the most part. It was like she already knew he wanted this opportunity to finally get a few things off his chest. Their partnership started out more so like as if she was yet another client in need of investigations on a missing person. The man he introduced himself to her as, Bronze, was someone who could help her. He required very little in return until he realized that she was quite the odd character herself. Once Siresh tracked her brother Daniel to this city, they were an inseparable force to be reckoned with. She had a real fire and dedication to her work and finding her brother.
Siresh could tell things were starting to strain between them though. No doubt in his mind because he potentially knew so much about her and she knew very little about him. It wasn't very fair and quite one-sided, wasn't it? Siresh could agree with that, but it all depended on whether Jasmine would keep his identity a secret, which he wasn't exactly sure she would uphold. After all, he slipped up on hers a lot since she also could double as two different people. "So are you Jasmine or Daniel tonight? I'm sober and I can't even tell." Bronze smirked devilishly as he took his seat in the booth before her. The server came through asking for his drink order. A Long Island was his drink of choice. Strong and a literal representative of where he came from. The beverage came to him quickly, but he didn't even touch it immdiately as he also wanted some food to go along with it. He ordered a buffalo chicken panini, something easy and filling.
It was eerily quiet between them for awhile and it actually pressured him to begin drinking before his food was out like he had originally planned. It was a while before she finally broke the silence and began a little game after her more than invasive question. He got a little defensive actually, even though he already planned to tell her most things about him tonight. Odd how that worked, wasn't it? But he agreed with a soft nod to her little game. "Siresh K. Brozus. Nice to meet you." He answered simply. But what to ask her now? He didn't even know what he wanted to know about her. "Were you born and raised in Norway? Or is that just where you ended up?" He shrugged, feeling like he already knew that answer but it was something to warm up with until she started asking juicier questions and caught up to what he knew about her. "By the way, I had to pretend your last name was mine today. You want to put a ring on it? Mr. Syesh JD Ward does have a nice ring to it." Teasing as always. Maybe she'd get fed up with him and just leave.
