The Worst Kind of Date, But it's Looking Up

The dog looked over at her companion for the night as he ordered more food. Not that she could say anything, that is… She often ordered much more than people thought she could eat, but then again, she had a very high metabolism when it came to food and eating. It also helped that she ran and worked out so much to stay in great shape so she worked off any food that she took in and then had to consume more in order to remain her usual high energy state. As Daniel looked toward her as if waiting for her to order more, she politely shook her head. ”I’m alright, thank you.” She purred contently as she cuddled up closer to the male as she waited for him to answer her question.

To hear that this one was much like herself, running just about everywhere at any different time and she couldn’t help but smile at that thought. Though in truth, it was almost just as strange that she hadn’t run into Daniel while running before, but then again, this city was huge with many, many different places and one turn could have them going different directions, so perhaps it wasn’t so strange. Her smile only widened at the mention of the forest just outside of the city. How she loved to shift and just take off through the underbrush, the wind through her fur and the dirt under her paws, but really… She wouldn’t say that to a stranger. Last thing she wanted was to be called a ‘dog’ by someone she didn’t know. Or someone she did know, for that matter.

To answer Daniel’s question, she shook her head softly. ”I pretty much mirror that schedule. Night time is always the best, but daytime will do in a pinch.” She shrugged her shoulders with a smile over to him. ”As for the forest, it can be a bit dangerous, but it’s worth it, isn’t it? It’s so glorious at night~” She purred giddily just thinking about it, her excitement making her give a happy wiggle of her body.

She turned her crimson gaze back onto her companion for the evening and pointed with her finger down the street. ”It’s just a few blocks down the road from here. We should be there in about five or ten minutes.” Her tone was warm and she continued to babble about the building that they were going to as they walked. Really, it was just useless information about the architecture and the ups and downs of the building. Things that Daniel really didn’t need to know, but it filled the silence that she was afraid would settle between them.

Once they reached the building, she held her hands out toward it in a gesture that was showing it off. ”See? Isn’t it just splendid? I’m up on the fifth floor, but there’s an elevator so we don’t have to climb all those stairs.” Rune said with another grin as she scanned her key card to open the gate and enter the building before going to the elevator and waiting for it to open. ”Going up~” She said with a bit of a giggle as she hit her floor and waited while listening to the slow and almost annoying elevator music.

Once they got to her floor, she got out and led the little ways to her door. Using the key card once more time, she opened the door and waited for Daniel to enter the small apartment. The two bedroom apartment was a little messy on the inside, clothes, and items scattered randomly on the floor, but at least the kitchen was clean and her bed was semi-made. ”Go ahead and take a seat. I need to use the bathroom and slip into something more comfortable.” As suggestive as the words sounded, she left him with the thoughts of what that might actually be, though really… She was going to slip into a pair of boxers and a tank top, but hey… Best to let a man day dream, right?

The walk to the apartment was fairly short, but she learned a lot of information. The place Rune was living at was a five floor place and had a working elevator. At least there was that. There was one apartment complex that had an elevator that took five years and a day. It was something that Jasmine had looked into one day, but she did not want to be taking those stairs to the 4th or even 6th floor daily. But that was a different apartment and this one was this one. Glancing up at this, building, Jasmine took it in and left it at that. Nothing too impressive. "Well, I can see why you want to leave the apartment so often. But lets go."

The two moved forward through the complex. Up in the elevator and down the hall to Rune's apartment they go. Once in, Jasmine took a moment to take it all in. It looked....well it could have been better. Her blue eyes glanced around until she found a table surface. "It's honestly not that bad, Rune. It's better than cheeto encrusted doorknobs." Turning around, Rune spoke again, saying that she was going to slip into something more comfortable. A slight panic rose in the blonde angel. Did that mean she was going to get naked? Or was she going to get into something actually comfortable like pjs? No matter. Smiling at her, Jasmine nodded. "Alright, see you when you get back."

With the other girl off, Jasmine took off her hat and jacket, attempting to get more comfortable herself. Clearing the table, she put whatever clutter was there somewhere else. Looking for plates, she moved her way into the kitchen. Opening up different cabinets, the half angel searched for any type of plates be paper or otherwise. Once found, she started setting up the table, complete with glasses and everything. Looking for that warm beer, Jasmine took a crack at it and poured it into each glass. At least they could pretend to be classy. Thinking about it, maybe she was spending too much time with Siresh. Maybe.

Pulling out her phone, she checked her phone just to make sure the devil- er....tiger, didn't call. Or did anything weird for that moment. Thankfully, nothing came up on her end, but did it ever? He could hack phones like someone opened up an app. Just to be sure, she pulled out the battery. That should show him...not that it mattered. It's not like they had anything really going on other than working on a case. A very important case that seemed to be going nowhere any time soon. Running a hand through her hair, Jasmine let out a heavy breath. It seemed as if they weren't getting any closer. Now in a city full of different supernaturals, it was even harder to pick them out. Where would a god damn vampire keep a half angel in a city this large and get away with it?

Cheeto encrusted doorknobs? She shuddered at the thought. No. Her home was simply messy, mainly because she didn’t have the time to do more than throw her clothes in a pile and go shower and then sleep. Then wake up and do it all over again. She hardly even got the time to come to her apartment. Mostly just stayed at the brothel when she didn’t have time to get all the way back here.

Rune gave the man a vibrant smile before waving and slinking from the room and into the bedroom. First thing off, those heels. She loved and hated them at the same time. They made her taller and gave her walk an even more pronounced sway, but man… After twelve hours of being in them, they were nothing more than a nuisance. With a soft sigh, she felt her feet on the floor, curling her toes and enjoying the way the cold felt against her soles. It took her a little too long to strip from her clothing, peeling off her skin-tight clothing before slipping on a baggy t-shirt that she’d likely gotten from someone and a pair of boxers that were left by someone else. Normally, she would have gotten into her own clothes, but she couldn’t even care enough to try to find anything. She just picked up whatever was on the floor and put it on.

After way too long to leave a guest in her home alone, she exited the room, almost surprised to see that her companion for the evening had set the table and everything. Complete with beer. IN GLASSES! Her smile spread over her lips as she moved to Daniel with lithe movements. ”Look at you setting the table~ Aren’t you just the gentleman of the century~?” She purred as she rubbed her cheek against his shoulder affectionately.

It had been a long time since someone had gone through such a thing. Normally it was her to play the dirty wife, setting the table and getting the man a beer. It was nice to meet a guy that set the table for her. ”Thank you for dinner, Daniel. And the company~” She said as she kissed him on the cheek lightly before taking up a seat at the table. ”I’m surprised you had no plans tonight, for someone as good looking as yourself~” Compliments rolled easily off her tongue and the honeyed words were even more sweetened by her sincere tone as she looked up at Daniel with a smile.
