Halloween Event: Tricks and Treats

As Patience continued to slowly ponder the riddle, her eyes would widen. turning toward Dom, she would smile wide. Her toothy grin greeted him, behind her, her tail seemed to coyly sway, keeping her tone low she whispered to him."The Bowling Ally~ The soldiers are the pins. The beast with three eyes is the ball." Beaming proudly she would let out a soft playful giggle. Then she turned, seeing Svala's expression. "mmm... Not good, I think Svala's team has got the answer too. Should we hurry?" It wasn't a question, more of a warning. Turning away from him she would wave her hand for him to follow. "Let's get going before Svala's team gets the chance to." In a funny way, she was being chased by a cop. This time she was innocent.

'Proficient' :

“James… From the Police department.” She said in a rather plain tone, though the words were almost mused from her lips, she watched him light up a cigarette, a scent that she honestly hated as it dulled her sense of smell and filled it with the unnatural smell of chemicals mixed with tobacco. The Wendigo kept her expression calm though, as it almost always was, that is, until the riddle was read out. She knew this one. Svala let her partner think on it for a few moments, her gaze flicking over to watch Patience and her companion running off. It seems she knew too…

Turning her gaze back to James as he thought through the riddle, she attempted to smile at him. “We’re losing ground. Come on. It’s this way.” She said to him softly before she turned and began to walk down the street. Whether he followed or not was on him.

Dom nodded stoically and cleared his throat, trying not to appear shocked when Patience managed to answer the riddle in a matter of minutes. Her timing was almost on par with a few lead investigators in the TCPD…a humbling thought to say the least. Thanks to her quick wit they now had a head start on reaching their destination. So, he followed at her behest. Somehow he managed to keep up with the clever cat on their way to the venue, although this was far from easy. 
As a supernatural she had the potential to be incredibly swift. Meaning it was probably going to be a long day of him trailing behind her; which in her personified form he found himself minding less as they went along.


Once they reached the bowling alley Dom inhaled deeply through his nose, then exhaled slowly, and neatly adjusted the collar on his jacket. A few people on the sidewalk gave them strange looks as they passed by, and those inside also couldn’t help do the same upon noticing their arrival. He supposed it was the collective appearance of their team. An Animalian and a human were an odd pair for anything, even in a city-wide event like the one put on that afternoon.
“You were right this time, but in the future let’s not rush into a location unaware,” he said, quickly scoping out the room and resuming an air of authority. The booth would be stationed here. “We’ll have to be mindful of civilians, even if we’re certain where our next task is.”

Alpha and Harper had made it to their destination, the graveyard. There were a few people in the area, but none that the android recognized from the initial group. It would appear that they were the only ones to come to the conclusion that a graveyard is where one would most likely find dead soldiers. “I am unfamiliar with the military branches in this area. Which branch wears white?” It asked Harper. She had put her arm out to his chest, a signal to stop according to Alpha 001’s database.

“This is the wrong place? That is improbable, unless there is another place in which dead soldiers are brought.” It said. “We could ask some of those people over there if they have seen the soldiers’ corpses. It appears that they are inspecting graves, they may have noticed the group that we are looking for.”

Alpha looked to Harper as she read the paper more closely. Did that really help? The android did not understand the need to get closer to a piece of paper, but maybe that was how humans act when they are thinking? “Well. If you believe it is not here, then the paper also spoke of an alley. Shall we investigate there?” Alpha asked. It seemed that Harper was still looking closely at the paper. The android got closer and looked over her shoulder. “Perhaps there is something we are missing if it is not here. The wording seems straightforward, though. I do not know what else could be derived from this.” It read the words aloud, attempting to determine a different meaning from any of the words through it’s database of similes it had acquired.

A riddle was a sort of logic puzzle, but straightforward logic was not enough to solve it. For just an instant, the android disabled its full logic application and started creating a new program that it called the Puzzle Function: Riddles. In this new logic function, it cross referenced the words on the paper to other words it had collected throughout its time observing humans in the streets. With any luck, the android would be able to get a hit on all similes and possible references to the words on the sheet.

'Proficient' :

James and Svala – Even if you’re going steadily, you get there ahead of the other team somehow. As you enter, the place is black lit, Halloween decorations done in neon is covering the room as people bowl happily. The smell of fried foods fill the room, Svala, and damn, they make you hungry. But you both see a booth that say “Scavenger Hunters, You Found Clue Number One” with the white haired woman from the stage at the far end of the bowling alley. Svala, please roll a focus. James you see someone who looks like he’s doing something shady in the background as he talks with someone else. Please roll a focus or a logic to see if you can avoid going over and seeing what they’re doing. Either way, if one of you makes it to the booth, you will be given the next riddle along with your first flag. Congratulations!! (Please roll your focus talent before posting.) If you pass your focus, you may roll a logic to see if you can find the answer to the riddle.

Daamodar and Patience – Patience, you fail to run. Though you barely avoid getting injured by tripping over a curb, perhaps it’s better to go slow and steady. You both at least get to the bowling alley safe and sound. You too notice that the booth is across the room, but there is so much going on. Little kids running about and such. Please roll either an evade talent or an agility to see if you avoid all of them as you make your way to the booth. (Please roll your agility or evade before posting.) If you pass, you may get to the booth and roll a logic as you get your next clue and your first flag.

Fenrir and Siresh – Congratulations, Siresh. You figure out where to go~ After a little more thought on it, the answer seems so simple to you. Fenrir still has not gotten the answer and he is getting irritated. However, as Siresh leaves to make his way to the bowling alley, Fenrir follows. You may choose to walk or run to see if you can catch up.

Alpha and Harper – Harper, you really have no clue, do you? Poor girl… Try as you might to understand the riddle, no idea on what it could be comes to you. Maybe it really is an alley way with ten dead soldiers? However, after turning off full logic, Alpha, you are able to piece together little things, categories of words that resemble something white, something with three eyes, an alley where people go on dates… All these things have one thing in common and you’re able to figure it out. You may either try to run or you can walk to the location.

'Unproficient ' :

Patience stumbled over the curb, quickly looking around to see who might have noticed her usual graceful nature failing her. Looking back to Dom, she would let out a loud laugh, rubbing the back on her head. "Ahaha.. Damn thing, I was so excited about the riddle I almost busted my face open." Walking back to Dom, she would gently rub her cheek on his shoulder/arm. Trying her best to play off her clumsiness. She wanted him to quickly forget that moment.

As they continued on she would walk close to him this time, staying his pace instead of rushing ahead. Once they arrived, the cat's yellow eyes would widen. She could see the next both but the entire place was surrounded by sticky disgusting children. "Great... This place is full of rodents." It would seem Patience wasn't fond of children. In fact, she borderline hated them. They always seemed to want to pull her tail or ears, or touch her. Their sticky little hands always put gunk in her fur. The whole idea bothered her, but if they were to get through to the booth they'd have to make their way through this mess. Inhaling deep, she would be the first to make her way through the crowd of screaming excited children. (Pre rolled success; Agility check) She easily avoided them, and those who did try and touch her would get growled and hisses at, making sure to keep them at bay.

She had done it. Made it safely to the booth, holing out her hand for the next clue she waited.
